First and scarce edition of this iconic book by documentary photographer Mary Ellen Mark‧ In 1983, Life magazine published a series by Mark on homeless street youths in Seattle. Mark concentrated on the harrowing life of Erin ("Tiny") Charles, a runaway. She gained Tiny's trust and over the decades continued to photograph her. The series became an Oscar-nominated documentary film (1984) co-created by Mark and her husband, Martin Bell, and a 1988 book titled "Streetwise".

This first edition is in great condition with minor creases on the cover and slight yellowing of the pages.
